About the Indicator: With the exception of drunkenness and driving under the influence, all state or local liquor law violations1 are placed in this class. Excludes federal violations, includes manufacturing, selling, transporting and furnishing as in maintaining unlawful drinking places. Bootlegging, operating a still, furnishing liquor to a minor and the using of a vehicle for illegal transportation of liquor are included.

In 2012, reported liquor law arrests and apprehensions for all ages in Minnesota were higher than the national average (rate ratio = 1.93).  Rates for the state are from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA); national rates are from the Uniform Crime Report (UCR).
